Townie Nightmare
Fishing in the morning at 4 AM
Then dinner on the boat it’s cooked by the men
Hands worked raw from line handling
It was a townie nightmare
Wishing the devil would leave
It was a townie nightmare
On land and sea
It was a townie nightmare
Like you’d never believe
I’m cutting out tongues and drying the catch
Making sailfish with every batch
Sewing nets and making lobster traps
It was a townie nightmare
Wishing the devil would leave
It was a townie nightmare
On land and sea
It was a townie nightmare
Like you’d never believe
Salt water and rainbows
Weathered faces and worn clothes
Hard work and challenges on the way
It was a townie nightmare on land and sea
It was a townie nightmare like you’ve never seen
Sawing logs and cutting wood
Loading up sleds it’s understood
Stacking junks before ya get food
It was a townie nightmare
Wishing the devil would leave
It was a townie nightmare
On land and sea
It was a townie nightmare
Like you’d never believe
Salt water and rainbows
Weathered faces and worn clothes
Hard work and challenges on the way
It was a townie nightmare on land and sea
It was a townie nightmare like you’ve never seen
It was a townie nightmare on land and sea
It was a townie nightmare there’s nowhere I’d rather be
Going in the woods gonnna check the traps
Then off to the cabin, eating scraps
Have to go outside to take a crap
Going in the woods gonnna check the traps
Then off to the cabin, eating scraps
Have to go outside to take a crap
Sailing to the grounds in deep fog
Hunting for moose out in the bog
Troutin in the summer in a secret spot
Skidooing in the winter from place to place
Cold in parts you’d prefer not to chafe
Drinking beer in the woods to ease the pace
Eating fish moose and cabbage every single week
No steak or pork chops if you’re lucky salt meat
Too many meals accompanied by beet
Ten in a room trying to get to sleep
No room to fart, you might get punched in the teeth
Your body cold under the sheets
Digging dirt to plant some seed
Have to wait months before a good feed
Every day fighting with the weeds
