Gully Hoppers

I lost my coat out the window of a car
It went half way out in the pond it seemed so far
It was a little to deep I wouldn’t go out there
But my girl was brave she said just give me

My golly hoppers
My gully hoppers
I’ll get that coat
With my gully hoppers

So I pulled over and parked on the bank
At first I thought she was gonna pull a prank
She pulled her rubber boots up high
Ready to retrieve my coat from where it lie

With her golly hoppers
With her gully hoppers
She went to get it
With her gully hoppers

With determination in her eyes she waded through
Into the murky water with no fear or no clue
The pond was chilly but she didn't mind
Her gully hoppers would keep her aligned

Those golly hoppers
Those gully hoppers
They sure are the gear
Those gully hoppers

She reached the spot where my coat had sunk
With a steady grip she grabbed it with spunk
She triumphantly emerged from the water's hold
My girl my hero brave and bold

With her golly hoppers
With her gully hoppers
She retrieved it
With her gully hoppers

With a smile on her face, she handed me my coat
Dripping wet but with pride she did devote
To rescuing my lost possession, I could see
Her gully hoppers had saved the day for me

We drove away with laughter and delight
The memory of the adventure shining bright
For in that moment, I knew for sure
Love and gully hoppers make life pure.
