Crystaline

Yesterday and today, tomorrow as well
The flowers are growing, I like the smell
I wouldn’t follow, for I sail the sea
I’m cleaning my mind in solitary
I’m a seer and thinker, and I like to dream
I was born to be Crystaline

I have a quiet heart, A safe to itself
Secrets locked away, on the top shelf
I eat alone in a darkened room
I listen to music, play my own tune
I’m an artist and a poet, and all around fiend
I was born to be Crystaline

A blue ocean and a yellow sky
Red fire in the stove, a tear to catch the eye
I’d tell you what’s coming, but it’s not the same for you
The birds are here flying, hopes are coming true
I’m a freedom fighter, not a king or a queen
I was born to be Crystaline

I’m like John Lennon, or Bob Zimmerman
I’ve got more in common with the spiritual end
I stand on the peak where I might fall
I’m on the edge, it’s my call

I write the words that come into my mind
Sometimes they’re wild, sometimes benign
I make no excuses, and I’ve no time for hate
Sooner or later we all have to be late
I’m a philosopher and chef, I try not to be mean
I was born to be Crystaline

Old guitars, black t-shirts and jeans
I don’t care about looks or the fashion scene
I’ve got food on the table and kids in my life
Cats and books and a dandy wife
I’m solemn and shy, I know I am keen
I was born to be Crystaline

The vultures are flyin’, but I know where they are
I’m two steps ahead, following a shooting star
I’ve got one eye open and the other twisted
I’ll never stop, I’ll never give in

So welcome to my home, whomever you are
Come on in, and sit by the fire
Tell your stories while you’re here in my house
I keep an open mind, be quiet as a mouse
I’m a searcher for truth, we all want to be seen
That’s why I was born to be Crystaline
