I Miss You Still

A stillness filled the morning
It reminded me of you
And for a moment I was back there
Sitting next to you
The wind blew through the window
The world was quiet and kind
I could almost hear you laughing
Like you never said goodbye

I miss you still, though time moves on
You're in the silence when the day's all gone
In my dreams that fade when morning comes
I miss you still—you’re the setting sun

Some days I want to call you
To tell you something small
The cats were in the backyard
Or the meaning of it all
But then the moment passes
I feel that same old ache
Nothing really cures it
No matter what I take

I miss you still, though I’ve found my way
You’re in the hush of every ending day
I see your face in everyone
I miss you still—you’re the setting sun

The world keeps on turning
I try to do the same
Now and then I stumble
When I hear your name

I miss you still, and it feels unreal
I wonder will time ever truly heal
You’re a part of everything I’ve done
I miss you still—you’re the setting sun
