Haven’t You Had Enough Of War?
The news is bad, and the graves are dug
The bombs are made, we can’t fill our mugs
The bills pile up while the tanks move like slugs
Rich men in control of the wars they declare
Madmen at tables just styling their hair
Raking in money, they don’t really care
Haven’t you had enough of war
The boss gets paid, but the workers get the shaft
Families have less than they used to have
The lines on the map are a money grab
They talk about progress and UBI
Not one CEO has a tear in his eye
They claim to tell the truth, but we know it’s a lie
Haven’t you had enough of war
The children who play in the park
Hide in shadows, cold in the dark
Wondering why things are the way they are
Evil people make the bombs descend
The innocent pay while waiting for a friend
Some wingnut refuses to bend
Where once were trees, now are empty holes
Hungry mouths sit with no food in their bowls
Cats finding kittens buried in the rubble
Mother Nature maimed with fire and smoke
The air is sick, it would make you choke
The land is destroyed like some alien joke
Haven’t you had enough of war
If all of this is part of God’s plan
He must be fed up and put us in quicksand
He gave us the keys but forgot the kickstand
I wonder if the devil is the one in control
We’re running around in circles, it’s getting old
Who made it this way can’t have a soul
Haven’t you had enough of war
